Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy for all drilling equipment and assets.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and effective maintenance operations.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with drilling engineers to plan maintenance activities around drilling schedules.
- Conduct regular inspections of drilling equipment, identify issues, and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for maintenance activities.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards during maintenance work.
- Liaise with procurement to source and order replacement parts and equipment as necessary.
- Prepare maintenance reports, documentation, and analyze trends to optimize maintenance strategies.
- Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance management within drilling or oil and gas industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of drilling equipment, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
- Proven experience in leading and managing maintenance teams effectively.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools for tracking and analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in budgeting, cost control, and resource management.
- Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- Relevant certifications in maintenance management or related fields are a plus.
