On May 9th, which coincided with the 2nd day of the 28th International Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Exhibition in Tehran, Dana Energy took a significant step forward by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Amirkabir University of Technology. This strategic alliance aims to enhance collaboration between the industry and academia and to further promote innovation and progress in Iran’s energy sector.
The MOU was signed between Mohammad Javad Ameri, the Vice President of Research at Amirkabir University of Technology, and Mohammad Iravani, the CEO of Dana Energy. Through this collaboration, Dana Energy is extending its support for research endeavors, reinforcing its commitment to driving progress.
Ameri emphasized the importance of a strong connection between academia and industry, stating that to meet the country’s needs, there must be tight bonds between universities and industries, especially in sectors where larger volumes of research and development are required due to the ongoing sanctions. He also highlighted how these agreements can involve professors and students in driving innovation, with a specific focus on internship opportunities, research and development funding, and discussions aimed at building meaningful collaboration between the universities and the energy industry.
Furthermore, Erfan Zarrabifan, Head of Business Development for Dana Energy’s Drilling Operations, emphasized the significance of enhancing the country’s universities and scientific capabilities to nurture a highly skilled workforce. He reiterated the importance of Dana Energy’s proactive approach by mentioning the ongoing “Bavar” program — a program designed to provide fresh graduates with a strong entry point into the energy sector as part of our mission to cultivate domestic talent.
This partnership marks yet another remarkable and strategic move by Dana Energy, laying the groundwork and paving the path for empowering young talents and reinforcing domestic support, thereby establishing robust groundwork for the future of the energy industry in Iran.
