Addressing Iran’s Energy Imbalance
In recent years, Iran has faced one of the most challenging periods in its energy supply history. During the cold seasons, the country has experienced a clear energy imbalance and natural gas shortages across residential and industrial sectors, with daily deficits reported as high as 350 million cubic meters.
Amid these conditions, Dana Energy, alongside other capable Iranian contractors, has played an active role in addressing this challenge. Through the implementation of advanced well services projects, the company has contributed to increasing gas production capacity from the South Pars field and mitigating the country’s energy shortfall.
Boosting Gas Production through Advanced Well Services
Over the past two to three years, unprecedented cold waves, rising household consumption, and restrictions on gas supply to industries and power plants have significantly reduced industrial productivity and increased dependence on liquid fuels, exacerbating air pollution. In such circumstances, optimizing the efficiency of gas wells and revitalizing existing production capacities became essential to sustaining the nation’s economic growth.
In this context, Dana Energy’s Well Services has been instrumental in delivering specialized cementing and acidizing operations for new drilling projects, revitalizing existing wells, and enhancing gas production across South Pars phases.
Key Achievements in South Pars Field
A major recent milestone includes the successful acidizing of five gas wells in South Pars Phase 13. These operations aimed to boost production capacity from both active and newly completed wells. The project was completed on schedule, featuring optimized design, continuous quality control, and safe acid fluid injection in accordance with the client’s standards.
This success reflects the close collaboration between Dana Energy’s engineering and operations teams, the project contractor Petro Gohar Pars Kish, and the main client, Pars Oil and Gas Company. The partnership led to optimized production and stable output from Phase 13 wells.
Since late last year, despite adverse weather conditions and logistical challenges in the South Pars region, the Well Services business has successfully completed multiple large-scale acidizing operations across national projects, including South Pars Infill, Phase 11 development, and Phase 13 operations. In total, nine wells have been successfully brought into production within this period.
These achievements embody Dana Energy’s mission to empower Iran’s energy sector and contribute to national stability and sustainable development, in collaboration with both public and private stakeholders in the oil and gas industry.
