The third drilling project at West Paydar oil field has concluded after achieving 588 days without incident. This project brought other significant achievements, such as the drilling of the first horizontal well in the Asmari reservoir and the fastest sidetrack well in this field.

A key milestone was the drilling of the first horizontal well in the Asmari reservoir, showcasing Dana Energy’s technical and engineering capabilities in complex and advanced drilling operations. Well No. 14, drilled during this project, stands as the fastest sidetrack well in the field, completed in record time owing to the proficiency and commitment of our highly skilled teams.

Despite the challenges posed by sanctions and limited access to the newest technologies, Dana Energy successfully achieved this remarkable feat, demonstrating resilience and innovation in overcoming external limitations.

Another notable achievement was the simultaneous operation of three drilling rigs, which presented a significant logistical and operational challenge. In this project, our Dana 2 rig, alongside Noor 2 from MAPNA and rig 202 from PEDEX, were simultaneously active in the field. Drilling operations began on February 21, 2023, with Noor 2 and progressed in tandem with the other rigs. These parallel operations required efficient and effective management across various domains, including logistics, transportation, equipment supply, and workforce coordination, which were successfully handled.

This project, executed by Dana Energy’s Drilling Operations, was commissioned by the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) as the main client, with ZN Vostok also serving as a client. We successfully met all the planned objectives in drilling, production, and field development, delivering exceptional results despite external challenges.

As an EPCD (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Drilling) project, a total of 7 workover wells—Nos. 17, 18, 30, 20, 03, 04, and 14—were drilled. Each well presented its own technical and operational challenges, but with the expertise of Dana Energy’s skilled professionals, all obstacles were successfully overcome.

Ultimately, the successful completion of this project showcases the precision, dedication, and tireless efforts of our operational teams. This achievement represents yet another milestone for Dana Energy in the West Paydar oil field, further elevating our confidence in our potential.
