Dana Energy’s Rig Solutions business has achieved a remarkable milestone in self-sufficiency by designing and manufacturing drilling waste management equipment. This breakthrough aims to reduce operational costs and complete the domestic supply chain, leveraging our extensive experience in rig asset management and our in-house engineering expertise. This innovation enhances our ability to offer advanced, high-value services to our rig fleet and clients.

With a clear vision and precise planning, the project has created an economically viable, efficient solution for managing drilling fluid waste. Not only does this achievement meet technical requirements, but it also addresses the environmental impacts of drilling waste, fulfilling Dana Energy’s social responsibility commitments. The advanced equipment was developed in partnership with local experts and a knowledge-based industrial partner in Tabriz, marking the beginning of a new phase in drilling waste management.

After several months of work, the first complete waste management system is ready for deployment at the drilling site. Meanwhile, the second unit is under construction, bringing the organization another step closer to full independence in delivering drilling waste management services.

Key features of this system include the use of materials compatible with drilling fluids, precision engineering for structural stability, and the application of highly reliable equipment. Notably, the project also moves toward a “Zero Discharge” service model, a critical goal for clients that seeks to eliminate waste discharge—a target that this project is well-positioned to achieve.

This success was made possible through the support of senior management at Dana Energy and the collaboration of the Drilling Operations and Well Services teams. The company extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved, whose efforts were instrumental in driving the project’s success.
