In March 2024, Dana Energy was awarded the tenders for two significant 3D Seismic projects. The East Paydar Project, focused on the development of the East Paydar field, was initially assigned to ZN Vostok by the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), a subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC). The seismic acquisition phase of the project has now been entrusted to Dana Energy.
The estimated duration for the implementation of this project is 17 months. This timeframe includes the full spectrum of operations, namely, mobilization, conducting seismic operations, data recording, data processing, and finally, de-mobilization. A total of 29,800 shot points has been foreseen, and given the terrain conditions of the area, data will be collected using vibrators.
The project will create employment opportunities for approximately 400 individuals, including the local workforce, technical workers, supervisors, and experts. Additionally, several contractors will be engaged for various services such as manpower supply, drilling, cable layout and pick-up, explosives, cleaning/demining, and provision of light and heavy vehicles.
The East Paydar 3D Seismic Project presents several notable challenges, including extreme heat, transportation across vast sandy areas, frequent sandstorms, and the presence of hazardous minefields. Dana Energy is prepared to tackle these challenges by leveraging our previous successful experiences and engaging specialized demining companies, all under stringent integrated safety, health, and environment policies.
The second 3D seismic data acquisition project for the Golkhari field was also assigned to Dana Energy in March 2024 by NISOC. The Golkhari field includes an area of 1,000 square kilometers and will encompass 62,500 shot points. All shots for this project will be executed using explosive sources (dynamites). The geography of the Golkhari 3D seismic data acquisition project covers the Bushehr and Fars provinces, primarily within the boundaries of Ganaveh and Borazjan cities. The project area is situated 30 km from Ganaveh city, 100 km northwest of Bushehr city, and 320 km southeast of Ahvaz city, in the southeast of the Bibi Hakimeh oilfield. The majority of the project will be conducted in mountainous to semi-mountainous terrain, with a smaller portion in the southern plains, which are predominantly agricultural lands.
One of the most significant risks of this project is the lack of access roads in the mountainous areas to the north, coupled with the risk of heat stroke during the prolonged, hot season experienced in this region.
Given our track record in geophysical projects and the demonstrated expertise of our professionals, we are confident that these projects will be completed successfully and on schedule.
