In the year 2000, Dana Energy was established with the clear vision of pursuing excellence in the energy industry to create value and prosperity. Since then, we have remained committed to this vision by constantly pushing ourselves to be exceptional and to stand out in ways that truly benefit our people. Our growth-oriented mindset has led us to expand our services over the years, which now include Exploration and Production, Oilfield Services, and Investment.
After more than two decades of growth and development, we have firmly positioned ourselves as the pioneering private energy company with the purpose of powering prosperity in nations.
2000 - 2009
Diversification, Integration, Fruition
Our service provision in Iran officially began in 2002 in the upstream sector. In the following year, we embarked on seismic services in Iran’s southwest oil fields. The onshore drilling services and rig chartering began in 2007, shortly followed by cementing services in the same year. In 2008, we started our well construction services with drilling 22 wells in South Pars, the second largest gas field in the world. Later on, in 2009, we expanded our rig fleet through NIOC Exploration Directorate contract, with drilling 8 exploration wells.
2010 – 2019
Exploring Potentials, Propelling Future
We kicked off 2010, with the geophysical study and reservoir modeling for the Pearl of Persian Gulf, the largest research project ever implemented in the upstream segment. In the following year, we were awarded our second offshore drilling project in South Pars, with the purpose of drilling 22 production wells. Our offshore projects played a significant role in strengthening our infrastructure. In 2012, we were awarded the biggest national 3D seismic data acquisition contract, BibiHakimeh. For the first time in the Middle East, Dana Energy studied and developed NasrAbad salt dome, located in the vicinity of Kashan city with the purpose of storing natural gas.
In order to improve our value chain, we ventured into trade of petroleum products in 2013. In 2014, we went beyond boarders and started two seismic projects in Pakistan with the aim of growing into international operations. Furthermore, by acquiring our first state-of-the-art stimulation vessel, we expanded our offshore services.
In the following year, the new corporate governance model was launched which would continue to yield further expansion and growth for Dana Energy. Shortly after, Dana Energy was qualified as the first Iranian private oil and gas company for exploration and production. We concluded 2015 with our first passive seismic project.
In 2017, as an E&P company we signed several MOUs with companies like OMV, DNO, and several other reputable partners, for the purpose of field development activities. Eventually, and partnering with Zarubezhneft, we began our first field development operation for Aban West Paydar field in 2018. In 2019, in order to boost our visions of sustainability, we co-invested in a 10 MW solar farm in Lar, Fars province.
2020 – Present
Powering Nations, EnergyWise
The Investment segment of Dana Energy came to life in 2020 to finance our upcoming projects, invest in energy-niche markets and optimize our investment portfolio. In the same year, the fast-paced evolution of technology encouraged us to establish our very first innovation center, a place that fosters the culture of innovation through creation, sharing, and trial of ideas.
In 2021, with the initiation of Sohrab Project — our first field development contract as an operator, we boosted our Exploration and Production business segment. In the same year, we started Oil Tools manufacturing plant through acquisition to complete our chain of services by focusing on well completion. Among other noteworthy achievements of 2021, is the drilling of our first offshore appraisal well in Persian Gulf.
In 2022, Dana Energy launched the Tubular Connections Business unit, offering an extensive range of tubing and casing solutions in both API and Premium connections. We started Haftkel project, our biggest data acquisition project to date, in terms of number of source points.
