PRESS RELEASE

Dana Energy is advancing well restoration operations on wells D-120 and D-121 on Kharg Island. Field activities began on July 23 at the Fath 48 rig. The project faces challenging security, logistical, and environmental conditions and requires close technical coordination and operational discipline.

The project comes amid heightened security requirements in southern Iran and significant logistical constraints. The extreme heat and humidity of Kharg Island add further challenges during the summer months. Despite these conditions, our operational and engineering teams continue to advance the work according to plan. We remain focused on safety, technical integrity, and operational continuity.

All site activities are being conducted under strict security and non-operational defense requirements. The movement of vessels, equipment, and specialized materials requires detailed planning and continuous coordination, while the island’s high temperatures and humidity add further demands on field personnel and equipment. The controlled handling and transportation of specialized chemicals also requires constant readiness and close operational oversight.

Advancing Well Restoration

At D-120, we successfully completed the injection of fracturing fluid to dissolve the bonds associated with the gel plugs. Our teams are closely monitoring injection rates and soak time to achieve effective wellbore cleanup while protecting the formation and maintaining operational integrity.

At D-121, a staged matrix acidizing program is underway to restore the well’s production potential, reduce skin effects, and improve permeability in the near-wellbore zone. Strict pressure limits are being maintained throughout the operation, while standard corrosion inhibitors are being used to protect the completion string and prevent unintended formation breakdown.

The work draws on our Well Services capabilities in well intervention, stimulation, and production enhancement, combining specialized engineering expertise with field execution in a demanding operating environment.

Expertise in Challenging Operating Environments

The conditions on Kharg Island require close coordination across engineering, operations, logistics, and field teams. Our teams continue to manage the technical and operational demands of the project, while maintaining the standards required for safe and effective execution.

The ongoing restoration work on D-120 and D-121 demonstrates our ability to deliver specialized Well Services under complex field conditions. It also supports production continuity through technical expertise, disciplined execution, and operational resilience.

As the project progresses, we remain focused on safe execution, technical precision, and the effective restoration of well performance.
